Gender equality : no meaningful index but we’re sure of our commitment

We have an equal pay policy that has existed for years. However, the indicators used to calculate the Gender Equality Index* are badly suited to our group, so a meaningful calculation of this index at 1st January, 2021 for the year 2020 is impossible.

Nonetheless, our commitment with regard to this topic has enabled us to improve certain indicators during 2020. This progression reflects the management’s mobilization in favour of equal opportunities.

During 2020, we achieved improvement points with respect to the following indicators:

  • 1st indicator (pay gap): Previously incalculable, this indicator now gives us a score of 37/40. This is due to our hiring female employees, notably in the blue-collar and managerial categories. When we had no pay gap as such in these categories, calculating the index was impossible due there not being 3 employees representative of each gender per category. We have now reached that threshold.

  • 5th indicator (number of female employees in the 10 highest paid jobs): As with the first indicator, this could not be calculated until 2020. This year we have obtained a score of 5/10.

Our intent is to continue striving to attract more female talent into our trades and instil a vocational mindset.

At Dupessey&Co, we are aware of the excellent performance lever that diversity in our group can provide.

*The Gender Equality Index instituted in France by the 08/01/2019 Act sets out to reduce professional inequality in businesses through a published score out of 100, based on five predetermined indicators.
